Listen. You don’t need more information.
You don’t need to do more research.
You don’t need to think about it, you don’t need another “magic bullet” plan, you don’t need to wait for this to happen, or for that to happen, and you certainly don’t need more time.
What you need right now is action. And consistent accountability.
Research shows that the two factors that contribute most to successful changes in behavior are incentives and accountability. If you want to change your habits, you need incentive and accountability. If you want more free time, to improve your marketing efforts, to improve your cash flow, develop your team, streamline your systems…
…you need incentive and accountability.
Every day I field phone calls from stressed out attorneys and their overworked team members, afraid that they can’t keep going at the pace they’re at. Unsure about what their plan should be. Feeling like neither they nor anybody else in the office has the slightest clue as to what is going on. Afraid that they’re going to implode if something doesn’t change.
But achieving change—in life, as in business—requires consistency and diligence. And action.
Tomorrow, I’ll be speaking with an attorney about joining one of my client’s firms. My client is nervous beyond words because, well, hiring your first associate is scary business! But it’s happening, because taking action is the only way to move forward.
Do me a favor today…take action. Take the first inspired step in achieving that thing you’ve been thinking about forever. That thing you’ve been putting off because you need more information, to do more research, to mull it over just a bit more.
Just take the first step. And tomorrow, take another step. And the next day…take another step. Just keep taking steps, every day, and in 3-months, 6-months, a year you’ll be pleasantly surprised—if not shocked—at how far you’ve come!
