Many law firms have experienced growth since the pandemic. The downside to growth is that it is often accompanied by frustration. If youāre feeling that frustration right now, youāre not alone.
I often hear statements like, “Everything’s falling apart. Nothing’s working.” This is just not true. There’s probably one area that isn’t working. This is typically in relationships, which can lead to emotional explosions. That’s why it feels like everything is falling apart.
When you’re feeling exhausted, disappointed, frustrated, and challenged – That’s when you know you are absolutely on the precipice of a breakthrough. Unfortunately, the tools, mindset, and strategies that got you where you are won’t get you to the next level. It’s time to take a pause.
Find some celebration and, dare I say, some freaking fun in what you’re doing. Take time to clarify what is not working, where you’re frustrated, and where you can make some micro-adjustments.
Take a hard look at your calendar. Does your calendar genuinely reflect what you’re doing to go to the next level of your vision? If somebody were to come in and audit your calendar, would the activities on your calendar paint the picture of what you want to create this year?
If your calendar feels and looks overwhelming, exhausting, and tedious, then it’s not showing an abundance plan. It’s not a growth plan. You might’ve been able to stomach it last year, but now after this post-traumatic growth, it needs to be intentional, focused, and managed.
So follow the breadcrumbs. Follow the clues. Get deeply curious. Pause, and look at what you’re choosing. Finally, make certain that you are creating this year for your next level of growth, whatever that means to you.
