However, by the time I got home, stress crept in. I started worrying about pending client work, personal responsibilities, and everything else on my plate. That’s when I discovered the power of paying yourself first—not in money, but by prioritizing tasks that serve your business growth and nourish your soul.
Why You Should Pay Yourself First
The next morning, life got chaotic. I was behind schedule, skipped my growth plan tasks, and dove into client work instead. It felt like I was spinning my wheels, and the stress only grew.
Then, I hit pause and asked myself: Would everything fall apart if I dedicated 45 minutes to my growth plan? The answer was no. In fact, I realized I had already wasted that much time stressing and procrastinating.
How to Restart and Pay Yourself First
When I decided to restart my day, here’s what I did:
- Pause and Refocus: I spent 40 minutes completing growth plan activities that aligned with my goals.
- Practice Self-Care: I ordered lunch to stay fueled and focused.
- Delegate Wisely: I reached out to a friend for help with a personal task, freeing up more time for work.
This small shift in approach helped me regain control. I honored my growth plan, restored my focus, and felt more aligned with my purpose.
Commit to Paying Yourself First
Moving forward, I’m committed to paying myself first by prioritizing growth tasks every day. When setbacks happen, I remind myself that it’s okay to stop and restart.
